Pahrump Valley Winery: Nevada’s Finest Desert Winery

A winery is probably the last thing that would come to mind when you mention the Mojave Desert. But, this challenge is something that the people of Pahrump Valley is ready to take on. For them, the vast lands of the desert is a perfect place to start a vineyard. And since 1990, the Pahrump Valley Winery has been producing nothing but brilliance.

About Pahrump Valley Winery

The beginning of Pahrump Valley Winery’s existence is a long and storied one, with its location being one of the significant challenges they had to endure. Located at the heart of the Mojave Desert, where the land is perceived as barren, the company did not let this stop them from realizing their dream. Today, the company harvested more than 10 acres of Nevada grapevines from multiple vineyards, producing as much as 30 tons of grapes to create 2,300 cases of best tasting Nevada wines and bagging tons of awards including 2 Double Golds, 18 Golds, 51 Silvers, and 29 Bronzes.

The Vineyards

Nestled at the winery, the Estate Vineyards consists of Syrah and Zinfandel, with the latter being the oldest running commercial red grape vineyard. The first 100 cases of Zinfandel produced in 2008 immediately won seven National Wine Awards, including one gold. In 2009, the vineyard expanded to add Syrah and Zinfandel to the original vines. The first produced Syrah also featured rich, juicy flavors that allowed it to bag a gold medal at the Tasters Guild International wine competition.

Aside from the Pahrump Valley, the company has other vineyards in Nevada, including Nelson Vineyard (Amargosa Valley), Veronica’s Vineyard (Crystal Heights), School Lane Vineyards (Amargosa), and Queensland Vineyard (Dyer).
